Are you looking for adventure or would you just like to spend a peaceful holiday?
Visit Bovec then!
Bovec, the centre of the Upper Soča Area, has turned into an important tourist destination. Most of the community lies within the Triglav National Park, where nature shows itself at its best. Paragliding, mountain biking, trekking and cycling are just a few of the numerous possibilities for an active holiday. The mighty mountain tops in the surroundings, the River Soča and alpine meadows with their sheepwalks and goat pastures intertwined with hiking trails offer a number of adventures for families and other travellers alike.
The River Soča bursts out from under the frozen mountains of the Julian Alps. It is said to be the most beautiful European alpine river. On its way, it jumps over rocky slopes to form little waterfalls; it carves tight gorges into the rock, until it finally slowly pours out into white pebbles. And it never forgets to mesmerize visitors with its emerald green colour.
There are many adventures for whitewater lovers. The Soča is the most wanted travelling destination for rafting. It’s favoured by canoeists and kayakers. The river is also excellent for hydro speeding and canyoning. Calm and refreshingly cool it invites you on its banks – natural little beaches in hot summer days.
